Flatwork is the part of the job you cannot go back and fix. Thickness, reinforcement and joints get set before the truck arrives, because once it is placed you live with it.
Formed, reinforced and placed by our own crew. Rebar gets tied on chairs so it sits in the slab rather than on the dirt, and joints get cut on time rather than whenever someone gets back to it.
Pattern and colour are both chosen before the pour, because neither is something you change afterwards. Ask to see one poured rather than judging it off a printed chart — see the stamp patterns and colours we press.
A driveway carries more weight than anything else on a residential site. Thickness and reinforcement get set for real vehicle loads, and a paver border holds the edge where a plain slab would spall.
Everything above it depends on this. The grade gets set to move water somewhere deliberate, and the base gets compacted properly rather than being made up in depth later.
